Suarez gave Barca the Lead and one step closer to Quarter Finals
Luis Suarez scored both goals in his best performance yet as Barcelona made light of a potentially uneasy trip to Manchester City.
The “Uruguayan” in his first match in England after his move from Liverpool last summer, He pressured and became nuisance within the area to Vincent company, who failed to clear and the ball left it for Suarez who defined with a left shot to the far post of Joe Hart’s Goal.
Manchester City may not have lived up to the hype in this match, but Luis Suarez did indeed. The Uruguayan didn’t disappoint today with two goals, a point proved, haters were silenced.
It was as if Luis Suarez embraced the opportunity to make a statement. Seven goals and 12 assists in his first 22 games for Barca may have been a profitable return, but there had been many missed chances and there was still the feeling he had not quite clicked with the group.
Perhaps he thrives upon the space afforded to him, the necessity for speed, or the need to rely on reaction and not thought. Suarez knows where the goal is and twice he found it in typically clinical style to become the first Barca player to score two goals in the first 30 minutes of a Champions League match.
Barca was well on top in a match that had been predicted as wide open.
